There is a Jewish custom to not cut a boy’s hair until he turns 3. There are different mystical interpretations as to where this tradition came from, as well as other interpretations. The first haircut is called an “upsherin.”
Sol is going to turn three years old soon, and is going to have his first haircut, which may not seem like a big deal, but when you see this boy’s gorgeous long chestnut locks with sun-kissed highlights, you’ll better understand why it is kind of a big deal.
I had a great time running around with this energetic little guy, capturing both candid shots as well as some posed (which by the way, he did awesome with!).
Take a look!
Every single time I clicked the shutter, Sol yelled “cheeeeeese!”
Totally nailed this pose.
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t get cuter than this
Wild hair, don’t care.
I loved this set, the background and how he showed me his many expressions!
Showing off his long locks.
Having fun, being an almost-three year old.
On to the next great adventure – from baby boy to big boy!
I can’t wait to see Sol’s transformation after he gets his haircut!
Mazal Tov to your and your family, Sol!
{And stay tuned for their post-haircut family session}
