I must admit, I didn’t have a photo for this week until about an hour ago.
Thank you to Brittany Massey of Brittany Renee Photography – www.brittany-renee.com for this week’s theme, “texture.”
When I woke up this morning I was thrilled to see that about 2.5″ of thick sticky snow had coated the branches of the bare trees. I knew I’d find my inspiration outside. I decided to venture to a wooded area and start shooting, and I just loved how this one came out. The shallow depth of field created a smooth texture by leaving some branches out of focus. This beautifully juxtaposed the gnarly branches piled with their fresh coat of snow. I couldn’t decide on black & white or the original color. Which do you prefer?
Don’t forget to post your preference and your suggestion for next week’s theme in the comments section below!
Nice. I prefer the color here. How about F/11 for next week? I know I get into the habit of blurring everything too much sometimes, so maybe I’m projecting, but if you don’t often shoot stopped down it could be a good challenge.
That’s definitely a good one for me!
